Electronic Update Service

ISAA members receive periodic electronic updates on relevant issues including, but not limited to: legislative and regulatory issues and initiatives, educational issues and initiatives, meetings and educational opportunities, activities of the Board of Directors and breaking industry news.

ISAA members receive a quarterly newsletter with articles and highlights of ISAA members, as well as a summary of the activities of the ISAA Board of Directors and active committees.

Conferences and Networking Opportunities

The ISAA currently hosts two annual gatherings:

The Annual Conference, which is traditionally held in September or October of each year, provides ISAA members with an opportunity to receive education on operations and billing issues which are specific to ground ambulance service providers in Illinois. Additionally, the conference offers an opportunity to network with various vendors of vehicles, equipment and other items and services pertinent to ground ambulance service providers, as well as to network with peers in the ground ambulance service industry. Last but not least, on the first night of the conference, the annual “EMS Party” is held which includes good food, good fellowship and good entertainment!

The Lobby Day & Legislative Summit, which is traditionally held in April or May of each year, provides ISAA members with an opportunity to become engaged in the legislative and regulatory process. This is accomplished by members visiting the State Capitol in Springfield and participating in activities, including meeting with members of the General Assembly regarding issues which impact ground ambulance providers in Illinois.

Advocacy on Statewide Legislative and Regulatory Issues

ISAA members have the opportunity to be part of the legislative and regulatory process through participation with the Government Affairs and Reimbursement Committee. Some examples of ISAA initiatives which have recently been signed into law are the stretcher van statute and the appeals process for NETSPAP providers.

The North Central EMS Cooperative provides ISAA members the purchasing power of 3,881 members (2012) for the purchase of medical supplies and equipment, ambulances (through Braun Industries, McCoy-Miller, MEDTEC Ambulance Corporation, Premier Specialty Vehicles, Road Rescue, Taylor Made Ambulances and Wheeled Coach), uniforms and apparel, monitors/defibrillators, AEDs, legal services and seminars (through Page, Wolfburg & Wirth, LLC) and fleet fuel management, and other services.
